Why This Is a Polar Trend

Early Signals Overview

Poregenic skincare originated recently, over the past 2 months. There is a viral video on TikTok showcasing a Spanish model’s transformation before and after months of skincare and cosmetic work, where the “after” photo was her without makeup, yet she looked better than the “before” photo where she was wearing some makeup. However, this is not confirmed to be the sole origin of the trend.

This approach focuses solely on skincare, with no makeup whatsoever. The practice is quickly gaining traction online across the following demographics and locations: the USA, Australia, and Canada.

Over the past 2 weeks, several Reddit forum threads have recently discussed, a makeup-like look can now be achieved without the use of makeup. The practices recommended online consist of using specific skincare products, targeted cosmetic procedures, as well as other appearance-enhancing techniques designed to create a naturally polished look.
