Reel stripping is basically a practice that involves clipping but the process is almost 100% automated. Marketers are setting up agents that do the whole process from sourcing viral clips from a certain niche, automatically editing the clips to cut to the most engaging parts, add captions (if needed), resize the video and post to tiktok.

They do this at scale with multiple tiktok or instagram accounts. Once they get a viral video, they focus their full attention on that specific account.

Eventually once the account grows on autopilot, reel strippers usually:

- Convert the account into a branded page with high follower count

- Sell the account

- Do promo discrete promo videos on the account

This strategy works because it takes out most of the bottlenecks from conventional clipping

Reel stripping will almost definitely replace traditional clipping by the end of 2026, for the same reason Netflix replaced Blockbuster: it’s simply more efficient and effective. Reel stripping removes many of the biggest bottlenecks in the already fast-growing clipping industry, there is no doubt as to why this wouldn't take off.
